How long does it take to fill an open position?

Typically a position is filled as soon as possible. All open positions are posted on the PAETEC Web site.

How do I search for an open position?

After clicking on the job opportunities link, you will be able to search for positions by date posted. By utilizing the advanced search tab, you will be granted the ability to search for positions by key words or job category.

How long does my resume remain on file?

After filling out a user profile, your information and resume will remain in our applicant tracking system permanently for future use.

How can I check the status of my application?

All inquires regarding status of applications can be directed to Staffing@paetec.com. If a position that you have applied for has been closed, you will receive an e-mail notification alerting you that the position has been filled.

How does the hiring process work?

Once you have submitted your application to an open position, our Corporate Recruiters will review your resume and forward it on to the appropriate hiring manager for the open position. If the hiring manager would like to move forward with you as a candidate, one of our Corporate Recruiters will contact you within two weeks of submission.

Does PAETEC conduct background checks?

PAETEC is passionate about hiring the right employees that will fit into our unique culture. Part of our selection and screening process is for all prospective employees to have a background check.

This background check will include, but is not limited to, verification of the following information

  • Social Security Number Trace
  • Criminal History
  • Education / Degree verification
  • Confirmation of title and dates of last two employers
  • Driving Record

Driver Qualifications for PAETEC

Any prospective employee whose job duties require them to operate a motor vehicle while on company business must be in possession of a current, valid driver's license. If an individual is on a restricted license, e.g. a work permit due to traffic violations, DWI/DUI convictions, etc., that person's driving privileges will be reviewed closely.

Your driving record must be acceptable as defined by PAETEC. Criteria which may indicate an unacceptable driving record includes but is not limited to the following;

  • Two or more moving violations(tickets or charges) in a 24 month period
  • Two or more accidents within a 24 month period
  • Any combination of moving violations and/or accidents
  • Major convictions within the last three years
  • Major convictions can be defined but is not limited to:
    • Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
    • Reckless driving or "criminal speeding" violation
    • Fleeing or eluding police

Unfavorable information, such as a conviction will not necessarily disqualify you from the position you applied for. If you have misrepresented or omitted any facts on your resume or application you will be automatically disqualified for employment.
