PAETEC proudly announces our main sponsorship of the United States Sled Hockey team. Sled Hockey is an extremely competitive sport designed to allow athletes with a physical disability to play the game of ice hockey. Participants sit on boards with two in-line blades, and are both propelled and manage the puck using two sticks. The sponsorship will help defer costs of ice time, travel expenses and equipment for the team.
"We're extremely proud to Sponsor this team and some of the finest athletes I've seen," said Edward Butler, President and CEO of PAETEC Energy. "Since we have offices near the hometown of every player, employees around the country will be very interested in the team's progress and cheer on their local athlete."
PAETEC's sponsorship is part of "Community Connections," a program directing some company funds to worthwhile organizations designated by employees. The US Paralympic team will officially move to Rochester, NY after the 2010 Paralympic Games in Vancouver, Canada.
