More Services, Capacity Coming in 2010 with New Data Center Opening in MA

As your need for services grows, PAETEC is responding with a new data center, slated to open in Andover, MA in June 2010. Approximately 24 miles north of Boston, the new center will boast 40,000 square feet of raised floor space allowing you to store servers, routers, and other communications equipment.
As with all PAETEC Data Centers, you can rest assured your communications are in good hands. Andover will be supported by a staff of 11 in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), which will operate 24 x 7. There will also be redundant power to the grid, backed up by five 1400 horsepower, one-megawatt generators with 30,000 gallons of diesel fuel. A cooling capacity of 2,000 tons will ensure equipment resides at the optimum temperature. Plus, the center will employ the latest advancements in physical security with precautions against flooding, fire and natural disasters.

Beyond the standard data center features, the Andover facility will offer a host of services including Data Backup and Recovery, Dedicated Server, and Hosted Network Security services. Charles Field, vice president and general manager for New England, notes that “this data center will meet the growing data-oriented demands of large businesses around the country. As common business practices are moving towards the cloud, we’ll be there with the industry-leading service you’ve come to expect.”
This is one data center you won’t want to miss! The two-story, 92,700-square-foot facility will also feature a lounge and fitness center for you to enjoy.
“This center will serve not only as a flagship for PAETEC, but also as one of the leading centers in the nation in terms of size, reliability, and support,” stated Christopher Lodge, vice president for Data Center Services. “We have more than a decade of experience in data centers, and we’re designing this center based on extensive feedback from our customers over the past 10 years.”
