(Print-friendly PDF file)
FAIRPORT, NY - PAETEC Communications, Inc., announced that it has been selected as the 2005 recipient of Frost & Sullivan's Customer Value Enhancement Award within the Business Telecom Services Industry. The Award is presented by growth consultants Frost & Sullivan each year to the company that has best demonstrated the ability to expand the customer base, while maintaining its existing install base, with more innovative value creation and enhancement strategies than competing vendors.

"Receiving this award reaffirms PAETEC's mission to be the most customer-focused communications provider in every market we serve," said Arunas Chesonis, President and CEO of PAETEC. "External validation from such a respected name as Frost & Sullivan is a powerful message to our customers that we continually work to make their PAETEC experience a positive one."

In order to select the Award recipient, analysts quantify several market factors for each market participant according to predetermined criteria. Through primary and secondary research methods, all companies' market position and market growth are tracked, and those exhibiting significant growth are noted. Company install base and revenues are compared year to year to monitor customer response and market expansion. When a company continues to demonstrate solid growth rates, from market expansion and among its install base, it is a candidate for the Customer Value Enhancement Award.

May 13, 2005 - PAETEC Expands MPLS Network to 151 Markets
(Print-friendly PDF file)
FAIRPORT, NY - PAETEC Communications, Inc., a national communications solutions provider, today announced that its SECURETEC Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network has expanded from 27 to 151 markets, enabling the company to offer its data services to every major market in the country.

PAETEC's establishment of one of the first MPLS-to-MPLS, network-to-network interface solutions (based on the RFC 2547bis - option C industry standard), reduces network management resources while increasing network scalability in a secure, private environment.

The network extension allows PAETEC to offer a complete MPLS with Quality of Service (QoS) solution to areas once considered 'off-net.' This means that if a customer has one or more sites outside of PAETEC's traditional footprint, PAETEC has a solution that enables data traffic to pass seamlessly and securely between 'on-net' and extended reach locations.

By replacing antiquated Frame Relay and point-to-point connections, SECURETEC MPLS with QoS makes networking simpler and faster, allowing PAETEC to offer a complete and secure solution. PAETEC will target those customers with multiple locations spread across the United States and Canada.

"A big advantage to customers is the elevated level of service we can provide," said Brad Bono, chief operating officer for PAETEC. "By extending our network footprint, we can now support and service all sites for our customers."

Existing customers will be given the option to migrate to the new MPLS network when their current contract expires, while new customers will automatically be activated on the new network.

Apr 07, 2005 - PAETEC Named an Approved Government Vendor
(Print-friendly PDF file)
WASHINGTON, D.C. - PAETEC Communications, Inc., a nationwide communications solutions provider, announced that it has been named an approved vendor of the United States Federal Government for GSA IT Schedule 70. This allows PAETEC to sell to all government agencies that can purchase services from the GSA IT Schedule 70 contract, which is the preferred procurement method to obtain telecommunications Information Technology (IT), hardware, software, and professional services.

"We currently provide service to more than 400 agencies nationwide through our Government Solutions group," said Tom FitzGerald, vice president of government markets for PAETEC. "GSA IT Schedule 70 will allow us to show a much broader audience the value and solutions that PAETEC can provide."

In order to obtain approved vendor status, PAETEC had to complete a lengthy process. As part of the process, PAETEC had to provide in-depth product information, negotiate price points for its services, and submit 15 current customer references that could be contacted to develop a Past Performance Rating. Once the company submitted and satisfied all requirements, it was authorized as a government contractor.

The following PAETEC Data/IT products are currently available through GSA
  • MPLS VPN with QoS; IPSEC
  • Dedicated Internet Access
  • PINNACLE Communications Management Suite software
  • PAETEC E-mail
  • Burstable Internet solutions T1, DS3 through OC12
The contract is valid for five years, with three separate five-year option periods. PAETEC has the ability, as do all contractors, to add or delete products and services as the company's focus evolves.

The GSA system was designed to allow approved vendors to more easily provide services to the many prospective agencies. Throughout the award process, GSA negotiated fair and reasonable pricing, so agencies need only determine that an offer represents "best value" when selecting a provider. State and local governments are able to purchase services off of IT Schedule 70 as well.

PAETEC Communications, Inc., a subsidiary of PAETEC Corp., is a communications solutions provider offering broadband services, including advanced voice and video, enhanced data and communications management services to medium-sized and large businesses, colleges and universities, hospitals, hotels, governmental organizations, financial markets, and affinity groups. Mar 18, 2005 - PAETEC Named One of 50 Best Places to Work in NJ
(Print-friendly PDF file)
VOORHEES, N.J. - PAETEC Communications, Inc., a national communications solutions provider, has been named one of the 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey by The Best Companies Group and NJBIZ, New Jersey's only weekly business publication. PAETEC is the only telecommunications firm to make the list.

The 50 Best Places to Work in New Jersey survey and award program, in its inaugural year, was designed to recognize and honor those companies that demonstrate a dedication to their employees and provide benefit to the state's economy, its workforce, and businesses.

"We're honored that PAETEC was selected as one of New Jersey's top workplaces. We put a premium on providing unmatched customer service, and we want our employees to work in an environment that fosters such service," said Brad M. Bono, PAETEC's Voorhees-based chief operating officer. "Part of our mission is to be the most employee- and customer-oriented telecommunications firm in the nation. This tribute recognizes our commitment to those goals."

The awards program identifies up to 50 companies, which are split into two groups: 25 medium-sized companies (25 - 199 employees in the state) and 25 large-sized companies (more than 200 employees). PAETEC has been named one of the Best Places to Work in New Jersey among medium-sized companies. The program is sponsored by J.H. Cohn and North Fork Bank, in partnership with the New Jersey State Chamber of Commerce and the New Jersey chapter of the Society of Human Resource Managers.

Chad Beatty, publisher of NJBIZ, said, "The companies included in the Best Places to Work in New Jersey list truly represent a cross section of the New Jersey economy. From professional services firms to health care to communications, these companies represent what's so special about business in the state. We at NJBIZ are very happy to be a part of this program, and we share the excitement of those that have made this year's list."

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
  • Be a for-profit or not-for-profit business;
  • Be a publicly or privately-held business;
  • Have a facility in New Jersey;
  • Have at least 25 employees in New Jersey.
The ranking of the 50 winners will be announced at an awards dinner and presentation on Thursday, April 28.

Selection of the winners involved a two-part process. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part involved an employee survey addressing behavioral tendencies rather than company systems.

The results were analyzed and categorized according to three specific viewpoints, their impact on six specific relationships, and the level of the organization they most directly impact. The Best Companies Group then sorted and interpreted the data and determined the top companies.
